Facebook

Facebook is a passion. It is such a time waster, but also a great way to connect with people. I was thrilled this afternoon to get a friend invitation from a friend in Indiana.

To sign up, go to www.facebook.com & fill out the simple form. Name, email, password, gender & correct birth date.
Facebook requires all users to provide their real date of birth to encourage authenticity and provide only age-appropriate access to content. You will be able to hide this information from your profile if you wish, and its use is governed by the Facebook Privacy Policy.
That's it. As with any of the internet communities, there is a learning curve. You can share as much or as little as you like. You don't have to share the year of your birth.

I just used Facebook to invite people to my Pampered Chef party this Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in my yard via Facebook's Events feature. I wrote my address & it shows Google's map & what my house looks like. Kewl, huh? Ya, I'm a little slow & I don't think the 40-some odd people I invited will come. In fact, I've already got 2 definite no's & 2 maybes.

I couldn't decide where to hold it & really want to renege on it, but ......... I'll tough it out. Don says the weather will be good. Carolyn, & any other readers, you are welcome to come, just let me know. Pampered Chef reimburses $15 to the hostess for food for the light luncheon.

I bought the best Italian bread at Wal-Mart for Sunday dinner. Yum, it was all gone before I came home from Mother's & I still had half a loaf of French bread. I think a loaf of crusty bread will be on the menu Thursday. Maybe Pepperidge Farm's French bread, which is also good.

Another reason I like Facebook is the photos. In fact, that's why I joined Facebook in the first place. I was enticed by someone saying to come to Facebook & view their photo album.

I don't know why, but I didn't know you had a blog. I went looking for your email to respond to your comment and found it! I will have to read it when kids are not knocking at my door.
So in response to your comment on my blog... little brother got to go to Jaxon's party too.

Thanks for the invite to your party. Thursday is the only day this week we can go to the temple and since we haven't made it in August yet, I guess that is where I should be. I'll try this facebook thing soon, I hope.

Janelle, guess I didn't let you know. It's kind of boring, not fun like yours with pictures & kids.

Carolyn, you've got a catalog. A party like this is totally out of my comfort zone. I don't remember the last time I did something like this.
