The winter solstice occurred sometime today. It is only a moment in time, but the term also means the first day of winter. Today is the shortest day of the year, now the days will start getting longer again. We have had the Pineapple Express come through. I don't know whether I prefer the Pineapple Express or the Polar Express. I guess as long as it snows in the mountains, I'd prefer the Pineapple Express.
I told Rod, the editor at the Citizen, that Don had told me the weather pattern we are having, the warm weather & lots of rain, is called the Pineapple Express. Warm weather coming straight from Hawaii & bringing lots of rain & snow. Right now, we are at over 200% of average of precipitation. A year ago, we were in the 60th percentile. So, Rod did a little article on it. Front page news this week is the flooding in one of the Golf Course subdivisions. They had people out sandbagging. The Twin Lakes Canal Company took the canal out last summer & buried pipes to transport the water. Now there is no where for the water to drain.
I sure didn't pick a very good Christmas project - doing service for someone every day. I've been sick & very down because of the foreclosure & Mufasa.
Steve got into the kennel to fix the water buckets & the door didn't get secured tight enough & Mufasa got out. Not only did he get out, he knocked a woman down & bit her on the butt. She didn't press charges, but now Kim doesn't want him on her property anymore. I can't have him in town. Mufasa didn't run away, in fact he didn't leave the property. He just made himself at home on the porch.
Someone took a wolf hybrid up in the mountains last summer & turned him loose. I can't believe people would do that. He was caught killing sheep & so the sheepherder shot him. First of all, they thought he was a wolf, but then found he was a cross between a wolf & a German Shepherd.
I've got 3 more days to shop. I sure don't have the Christmas spirit this year.
