Today Ann, the business manager at the Citizen, came back to warn us of a mouse on the loose. It seems she heard some rustling in her garbage can & found a mouse. The Citizen is an old building & the tunnel isn't secure. The garage doors do not go all the way to the pavement, so mice can get in off the street, besides the mice we already have.
Anyway, I mused about the mice we have. I was thinking about places that have cats in their businesses. Our vet's office has a live in cat. She wanders the building & can be found asleep on the counter. Her name is Lovie.
As a lark, I went into Kelly's office & told him we needed a book store cat. He practically yelled at me, "Don't try & pawn your cat off on me!" I said I wasn't, the kitten already had a home. I just thought we needed a cat to keep the mouse population down. He said he didn't want a cat. We couldn't have a cat anyway, Jessi is allergic to cats
The real reason I had gone in was to tell him that Vicki had called with an update on Mick, her husband. He didn't have to have surgery today. He was dehydrated & had to have an infusion of glucose & a shot for his low white blood count. They didn't get through until about 4:30. It's a good thing that Karen could come in today & help.
We had an 18 page paper, with 9 and half pages of ads. FOUR full page ads. I worked 12 hours, 8 to 8, & only have 5 pages to do in the morning. One of them has already been proofed. I just need to make the changes. It'll be an early night tonight, so I can have another early morning start.
