Wedding at the Old Rock Church

Today was Ashley & Kyle Terry's wedding at the Old Rock Church in Providence. The venue is lovely & the wedding was beautiful.

They couldn't get the bishop or stake president to marry them & I found out why today. They had written their own vows. Kyle's dad, Ronnie, officiated. He had done what he needed to so he could marry them. He did a wonderful job. Wow!!

They also lit candles. Kyle lit the memorial candle for those who have died & knelt & prayed. Then Kyle's mother, Melva, lit a candle & then Ashley's mom. After the ceremony or maybe as part of it, Kyle & Ashley lit a candle. I remember when Pam, my boss at Hillhaven got married, their candle kept going out. Ronnie said the candle is supposed to be lit first & then extinguished so that when the bride & groom light the candle it will stay lit. He forgot to do it. However, the candle lit & stayed lit. Hmmm, lighting candles is not part of an LDS service either.

Eddie went, but Nick didn't. Nick got pulled over for speeding yesterday on the way to Hyrum for the rehearsal dinner, sigh. This makes his third speeding ticket. He was angry & worried about the insurance going up. I'm sure the insurance will go up. How many tickets do you get before they pull your license? Anyone know? I guess I could go online & check.

The Terrys, Mel, Ronnie, Kyle & Ashley, leave for Mississippi tomorrow. Ronnie's mom (Trish), grandma (Wilma) & brother (Matt) are leaving for Cortez, Colo., in the Four Corners area. Matt said he lives 10 miles inside the Utah state line. Mel's mom, sister & brother came by car, I think. I'm not sure, but I think they still live in Cortez also. Mel's sister Linda said she was going to drive into Idaho, just so she could say she's been here, LOL. I told Don that is exactly what I did when I accompanied an older sister missionary to the Tennessee Nashville Mission. We drove over the state line just so I could say I had been in Mississippi.
