Today I'm grateful for the chance to vote. I'm also thankful to be able to cover the election as an AP stringer. I love doing it. I would never have hung out at the courthouse just to see who won the election. Of course, I still prolly wouldn't do it if I didn't get paid to do it. I earn more in one evening as a stringer than I do in one 10 hour day at the Citizen.
I'm grateful for the men & women who have given their all for us to have this freedom. I'm grateful for the women suffragettes who fought for women to have the vote.
I even got Nick to vote today. Mother didn't, but I didn't think it was worth it to get her out in the cold. Nick told his dad I told him he had to vote before he could eat. And yes, I did say it, just not quite that way, LOL. I was taking a litte longer today in cleaning up the desk & hard drive on the computer at work. Yesterday Vicki (job share partner) found some stuff that should have been filed a couple of weeks ago. I decided I'd been a little lazy in cleaning out the basket where we stash the used copy. So, Nick came & we went to lunch. I had a couple of errands I needed to run. First, the pharmacy, he & Mother need some meds by tomorrow.
The next thing on my agenda was voting. I told him we'd vote before we ate, then he could just take me back to work. I really didn't expect him to vote. He usually is very passive aggressive about voting. He won't say no, but he won't do it either. So, I told him if he voted, he needed to vote yes on all the amendments, vote for Shauna Geddes & Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter. I didn't care who else he voted for, or if he voted for anyone else. He voted!!
Don voted yes on some amendments & no on some
