Veterans Day, Nov. 11

Thank you, thank you THANK YOU Veterans! Thank you for your tireless strength, your unmatched courage and your sense of duty. Hug a Vet

Matt & Jazmine Alexander
Today, I got to "talk" to my nephew Matt Alexander on Facebook. He is in Afghanistan or Iraq, not sure, I just know he's "over there." He gets to come home for Christmas for a furlough. This is his 3rd tour of duty "over there." I was hoping I could find the picture of Matt in uniform with Jazmine a little bit older, taken before this last deployment. It must be on my laptop. This was taken in 2007.

Frank Bartlome
On Facebook someone challenged people to change their profile picture to a picture of a vet. My grandfather was a veteran of WWI, 2 of my mother's brothers served in WWII & so did my FIL, Frank Bartlome. So, I chose this picture of Frank for my profile pic. It is his high school graduation picture in 1944 (or so I've been told). We found a picture of him in his uniform when Don's mom died. She had ripped it in half & it was in the bottom of her dresser drawer with all the cards & stuff. I still have it somewhere. I need to have it PhotoShopped back together.
